Trudi Nelson has a background in New Zealand media spanning 20 years.
From her first job working school holidays at a radio station to managing entire advertising schedules, Trudi's first 5 years in radio encompassed it all - client liaison, copywriting, sales, schedules, newsreading, editing, announcing, modelling and even station cheerleader!
At 21, her OE in the UK gave Trudi experience in the advertising agency world at Leo Burnett's media floor, London Underground PR department and learning how to see the world on a shoestring.
Coming home to NZ in 1995 bought a fancy new radio job in sales before being snapped up for announcing roles within The Radio Network. From there came No.1 rating breakfast show, Events Manager, Promotions Director and Marketing Manager at RadioWorks Auckland.
Time at Prime Television as PR and Marketing Manager ensued and Trudi oversaw the launch of a new-look Prime TV, and provided publicity for talent including Eddie McGuire, Charlotte Dawson, Paul Holmes, Suzy Clarkson and Alison Mau. This gave her valuable insight into all media vehicles.
Two bouncy boys and the only box left to tick was corporate voice-over and MC work. In true-Trudi-style, she tackled everything from MC'ing Fashion events to Bride of the Year, Medical Conferences to Christmas Carols. She was also a model for Egg Maternity's 2006/2007 summer range.
Corporate voice-over work has included New World supermarkets, Prime TV, The Living Channel, Food TV, Juice Music, Stevens Homewares, Sleepyhead Beds and various business phone systems.
Trudi is currently the smooth, sexy voice you hear every night between programmes on TV3 and C4 and she's a regular announcer on New Zealand's number 1 music station, The Rock.
She also loves to cook and so started popular foodie recipe website www.freshinthekitchen.co.nz which is one of the Top 10 websites targeting females in the country according to latest Nielsen research. Trudi is also the face of Fresh In The Kitchen on TV and the internet video.
